The Museum is now closed to the public until 2017 for major refurbishment work. We are unable to accommodate school and other group visits to the museum at the moment, but we are developing resources and activities which will soon be on offer to your school or organisation. Watch this space!
Secondary Schools : Meet the Expert, classroom visits programme
Coming soon! The Museum of Zoology Outreach Team are arranging a series of visits to secondary school classrooms with experts from the Department of Zoology and the , to complement secondary school science curriculums. Our primary schools outreach offer has come to an end whilst we develop the learning programme which will be launched when we reopen in 2017. If you are a teacher and would like to be kept informed please email us your contact details to zoo cam ac ukumzc
We will let you know when our teacher evenings, behind scenes at the museum, take place in the near future, to get your feedback on what would be most useful for your projects.
Current plans are to continue providing sessions supporting the following primary school subjects: teeth; evolution and inheritance; skeletons; habitats; historical figures (eg Darwin and Wallace, amongst others); local history (eg the Cambridge Whale).
There are opportunities to book group visits. These are limited so it is worth getting in touch a month or two in advance to arrange these. Email: zoo cam ac ukumzc to discuss possibilities.
