Access

Wheelchair users can enter the museum via ramps through automated doors or by means of a lift from street level, within the Department car park. A lift provides independent access to the upper and lower galleries within the museum.

There is also a new wheelchair accessible toilet adjacent to the foyer area.

Additional help during a visit can be sought by ringing 36650 or 36659 from the phone available in the upper gallery of the museum.

Parking for disabled visitors can be arranged when possible, though arrangements should be made in advance as there are considerable strains on Museum site parking. However, blue badge holders can park nearby on double yellow lines in Free School Lane for up to 2 hours, and on other streets as traffic allows. (Free School Lane is just below the arrow head on the parking information map).

Schools with this particular requirement need to specify their needs when booking.

For further details and to book, please contact the Museum Administrator.
